What is the Rule of 7 and Key Takeaways.
The Rule of 7 states that it takes an average of 4-7 Touches or Exposures to your product or services before anyone will become a product or service user.
So expect to hear a few "No's" Before you get a "Yes". Just remember that No just means Not right now. Follow Up and expose them to more of your product information and company culture and lead them towards a yes.

This episode I'm going to be talking about the rule of seven.

Hey guys what's up in this episode. I want to talk to you about the rule of seven. And the reason why I'm talking about this is because I've just been getting a lot of feedback from a lot of people who have been getting a lot of "No's" first up and I just want to let you know that its.
OK. So you should expect to get more "no's" than you should get. "Yeses". So you know you have to be OK with the "No's" and what you need to know and understand that. No it just means not right now. And so basically when you go out there you know you're just getting started. You have to understand that you are going to hear more "No's" then you're going to hear yeses you know we're used to hearing more "No's" than anything else. So you know just because you started a business and you sharing that with people and you're getting "No's" don't get upset like you have to care. But not that much like I know you really really really really really want to help these people you know change their lives. But some people just aren't ready for the change. So you might hear a no more than you're going to hear.
a "Yes". saying you know some of the pro's in this business they you know their strike rate is say three "yeses" out of ten so they're going to hear seven "No's" before they get you know three "Yeses". So if you're just getting started and you're sharing it with you know ten people getting one person to say yes out of 10 that's cool man and be happy be you know be excited that you've got somebody to say yes to using your product or getting into your business just you know just be grateful for you know finding that person that has found you and is going to take become a part of your business and a part of your tribe. So you know the other thing is when we're growing up we "No" we hear "No" all the time you know when you watch when you're raising children for the people that have children out there.
You have to tell you tell your children "No". Like when when you have a baby like we've had our niece around then she's only just starting to get into crawling and touching things. So you know we remind her "No" not to touch certain things but you know being curious as a baby. You know they're going to go out and touch touch things you know as a as a child growing up your parents you would ask if you could have something and they would tell you "No" you have. Can I have can I have a drink or something and they'll say no wait for dinner. So you know we're used to hearing No so you have to care but not that much. I just want to remind you guys.
You know you're going to hear more "No's" then you're going to hear "Yeses" it's just the way it is. But you just don't let the "No's" get you get you down. Stay excited. And remember the more "No's" you get the closer you are going to get to a Yes, so just keep on going. So I just want to share with you that before I talk about the Rule of 7. So the rule of 7 is something that I picked up from a book called oversubscribed. Really awesome book about how to fill up your pipelines. You got more people that. want to talk to you than you can handle but this rule of 7 comes from that book. Oversubscribed but. Basically the rule of seven is, it takes seven touches on average. It's going to take four to seven touches or exposures to get somebody to sign up, to pay for your product, or you know purchase your product.
So the rule of seven, so seven touches or seven exposures. So that's in person and other books that are listened to and you know other marketers I have heard that when you say seven touches for the seven touches it's personal. So face to face, take maybe you know taking somebody to a group. That's how much it touches it's going to take all exposures to your business or your products before somebody goes. OK I might have a go at this. So just remember that. So if you're getting a "No" the first time all you need to do is you need to touch them or you need to expose them a few more times maybe get them up to four to seven exposures before they come on. Sign up as a customer or sign up as a Business Rep.
So just remember No the first no it just means not right now. Like our past episode about the Rubik's Cube people have to move things around before they can get some order in their life in order for them to say yes. So just remember four to seven touches and those four to seven touches could be helping somebody move those colors around on that Rubik's Cube so that they line up. So they may help to help them make a decision. So another thing that you want to remember is that when you collapse time frames somebody will sign up quicker. So when you when you first take them through and you show them your presentation or your products what ever it is how ever you do it. You show them once you get the "No".
OK you ask them a Question. Hey what information do you need. So you could ask them the question we are you on a scale of 1 to 10, 0 being you're not interested at all. Or 10 you're ready to get started. They might say five. OK so what information could I give you to take you from a five to a six. So they'l tell you what they want to know about and you give them the information and then you set a date for when you can follow up with them. So if you can follow up with them you know on a daily basis or the quicker you can collapse those timeframes. So the quicker you can go through your 4-7 exposures the the more excited that person's going to become and the more FOMO they're going to have. So FOMO is "fear of missing out".
So when you're excited and you're moving through and you're showing them a lot of stuff they know that because you're telling them that you're going to show somebody else they have a fear of missing out on all the excitement that's going. So speed is your friend when it comes to taking somebody from zero to seven exposures to joining up. So the faster you can take somebody through showing them different materials. The faster you can take them from being a 5 out of 10. Up to a 10 out of 10 they ready to get started, the better for you. So collapse time frames show people as fast as you can and so follow up with them as fast as you can and get them exposed is as much material that they need to help them make a decision in order for them to become a customer or to become a rep.
So you can use multiple follow up or touch points. So there's a ton of ways you can get people exposed to different parts of your business. Maybe the first one is just seeing if they are open and showing them a company video. So use the usual tools that you have available. So you could use the first one could be showing them the video. So if they're not negative and they are kind of sitting on the fence and they need more information you can take them through different other things so you can add them to a group add them to a Facebook group where they see other people interacting so they know that it's not just you. Another way you could do after you get them to a third party call so you could maybe get somebody from your upline or your team jump on a third party call so they can answer some questions for them.
So are three exposures maybe you can invite them to a home meeting or it could be a fourth exposure. So if somebody else is having a meeting, a home meeting you could take them from there and take them to your meeting and you could help expose them to you know the products or whatever you could have group outings so as a team you may go out for a group lunch or group breakfast. So you take them along. Make them feel good. See what the whole team environment is all about. You could take them to an event you can maybe take them to a meet up you meet other people from other parts of your business that you associate with. You can add people to Facebook groups you can do Facebook lives in front of them.
So I'm just talking about you know things that you've been getting up to. So all these things all add up to the 4-7 touches or exposures you can use e-mails you can invite them to webinars you can invite them to team trainings and you can just comment on these people's posts. So multiple. Just remember when you show somebody for the first time remember the rule of seven and you know if you're going to get a "No" you're much more likely to get a "No" than you are to get to "yes". So remember that first "No" just means not right now. So don't take it to heart and just remember hey it takes four to seven touches or exposures to get somebody to sign up. The faster I can't take somebody from initially seeing whatever my product is about.
And and the more information I can get in front of them and the faster the rate I can do that better for you. And remember you have multiple touchpoints. Use social media, use your group meet ups use your group outings and events, Facebook groups, e-mail. You've got a whole range of things that you can use and just remember every time you're getting in front of somebody you're just exposing them to more of lifestyle or. You know information self-development whatever just as long as you keep staying in front of them and being top of their mind when they are ready to change or they are ready to say yes I want to become a business rep, or Yes I want to use your products. You're the first person that comes to mind.
So that's the rule of 7. Remember guys you're going to get more "No's" than you're going to get "Yeses". And on average it's going to take four to seven touches or exposures to get somebody to sign up. Speed is your friend use as much touch points as you can as fast as you can. And remember use multiple follow up methods touch points like Facebook groups everything out the face the face. Take them out. Make people feel good. And then when they feel good then they'll be more likely to become a part of your tribe. And remember when your attitude is what the facts don't count cause effects are just other people's opinions. No excuses no regrets. You know in your life. See you all on the next episode.
